Authorities frame the raid as a significant hit to trafficking structures on the Sonora–Arizona corridor.

Two ‘Los Rusos’ operators arrested in Sonora; nearly half a ton of crystal seized

A joint operation by Sonora’s Security Cabinet led to the arrest of Abdel “N,” alias El Toro (The Bull) and Miguel Ángel “N,” alias El Torito (The Little Bull), members of Los Rusos, a Sinaloa Cartel cell aligned with La Mayiza. The detention—confirmed by SSPC Secretary Omar García Harfuch—stems from a homicide investigation.

Teams moved between 5:06 and 7:30 p.m. in San Luis Río Colorado (SLRC), hitting a residence in the Altar neighborhood on Reforma Agraria Avenue between 37th and 38th streets.

Inside, officers seized 44 bags of a white crystalline substance consistent with crystal meth weighing 445.9 kg and 58 additional bags weighing 36.6 kg—a combined 482.5 kg (≈ 1,063.7 lb). They also impounded a gray 2005 Mazda 6 with special‑issue plates (placas de afiliación) and documented a fired 9 mm cartridge. A forensic specialist sealed all evidence under chain‑of‑custody protocols; the property was placed under the Public Prosecutor, who ordered its seizure.

Investigators say El Toro is linked to meth and firearms trafficking and to homicide, with prior assault‑related history. Both suspects were transferred to the competent authorities to continue judicial proceedings.

“Almost half a metric ton of crystal seized in a single hit underscores how active the SLRC corridor remains.”

The operation involved the Sonora State Attorney General’s Office (FGJES), SEDENA, SEMAR, the National Guard, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the State Public Security Police, and the Municipal Police. State officials described the action as a significant blow to trafficking structures along the border and reiterated commitments to legality, scientific investigation, and public safety.

Federal authorities also detained Brian “P” in Sonora with a shipment exceeding one metric ton. According to the FGR, he has been formally charged and remains in preventive detention; a judge set a four‑month deadline for complementary inquiries.

At the “Cucapah” checkpoint, gamma‑ray screening and a canine unit uncovered 236 packages hidden in a refrigerated trailer carrying agricultural products: 1,154.408 kg of methamphetamine hydrochloride (≈ 2,545.0 lb), 10 kg of heroin (≈ 22.0 lb), and 3.099 kg of fentanyl (≈ 6.83 lb).

'El Torito' is a popular nick name with stupid kids that sell drugs. Take for example Alberto Francisco Matas jr. (3/9/95); he deals meth and fentanyl for the Grijalva cartel.
