Someone was taken away. This was a kidnapping. There were gunshots. Sources indicate that the individual was an ex-police officer. A man was abducted by an armed group during the afternoon of this Tuesday in the vicinity of the Galeana neighborhood. It’s speculated that he could be a former police officer, a version that hasn’t yet been denied or confirmed by the authorities. This should be shocking, but it isn't--violent crimes are simply part of the cultural fabric both in Mexico and in The States. Interesting that the subject who was kidnapped was allegedly a former police officer--a confirmation on that would be nice.

Re: spent brass/cases--if the group responsible for the kidnapping wanted to kill people, they'd have done so. Most likely, this was the result of warning shots to keep any passersby from playing the part of hero.
